Our
Mission
We will provide our valued business and individual clients with
creative and practical solutions to legal problems that reflect
our thorough review and understanding of the most current laws.
Our
Approach to Client Service
Respond while a response can be of use.
Clients need their phone calls returned and their e-mail messages
tended to. The best legal advice is wasted if it is untimely delivered.
Keep our clients out of court.
Having spent more time in court than most lawyers, we know the value
of avoiding lawsuits.
Fight
hard when we are in court.
We know that it takes hard work, thorough preparation, careful planning
and close cooperation with our clients to win at trial.
Use
the past experiences of our clients to help them avoid problems
in the future.
Because we have so often been called on to help clients
solve problems after they have arisen, we know how to spot problems
in advance and steer our clients around them.
Provide
legal advice that makes sense in the real world.
Legal problems never exist in a vacuum. We strive to consider our
client's practical limitations, and to propose creative solutions
which make business sense.
Keep
our clients apprised of the constant changes in the law.
The law is never static. We follow assiduously new trends and developments
in the law so that our clients can trust that they are getting reliable
and current advice.
Our
Experience
We have tried to juries about every kind of employment discrimination
case addressed in the law. We have also tried cases involving the
enforcement of non-competition and confidentiality agreements, the
enforcement of the Uniform Trade Secrets Act, the enforcement of
trademarks and copyrights, housing discrimination, wrongful discharge,
breach of contract, personal injury, damage to property, exposure
to toxic substances, violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices
Act, occupational injuries, professional malpractice, defamation,
real property boundary and nuisance claims, and violation of constitutional
and civil rights.
We have appeared in the United States District Courts throughout
Ohio and in other states, most of the county common pleas courts
and appellate district courts of Ohio, the Ohio Supreme Court, the
Kentucky Supreme Court, the United States Sixth Circuit Court of
Appeals, and numerous Ohio municipal courts. We have conducted hearings
before the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, the Equal Employment Opportunity
Commission, the Unemployment Compensation Board of Review, the Ohio
Industrial Commission and the National Labor Relations Board. There
are few forums in Ohio where we do not feel at home.
We
also have extensive experience in transactional matters. We have
established for our clients limited liability companies, Subchapter
S corporations, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations, and general
partnerships. We
also represent townships in annexation matters. We have represented our clients in commercial and
residential real estate transactions, negotiated commercial contracts,
and crafted non-competition, confidentiality and non-solicitation
agreements. We have prepared for our clients operating agreements,
close corporation shareholder agreements, technology licensing agreements,
and agreements for the purchase and sale of substantially all assets
of businesses.
We
are committed to our clients, and, in turn, enjoy great loyalty from
them.
